The Swiss Wine Week programme showcased the country's Alpine terroir, rare indigenous grape varieties and accomplished winemakers, who are responsible for the particular diversity of Swiss wines.
The Swiss Wine Connection Masterclass received very positive feedback from participants. ‘A really impressive selection of wines and I learned a lot. I'm definitely excited to follow the development of Swiss wines,’ said Janet Z. Wang, wine expert at the Channel 4 Sunday Brunch.
A media tour of the prestigious London wine club 67 Pall Mall was also well received. ‘It was a pleasure to discover the diversity and uniqueness of Swiss wines and meet the producers behind them. The tasting was both informative and entertaining,’ said Kat Lee, Senior Wine Specialist.
The following Swiss winemakers were represented at the first Swiss Wine Week in the UK:
The hospitality industry supported Swiss Wine Week in the UK by promoting Swiss quality wines in renowned restaurants (including Claude Bosi at Bibendum, The Fat Duck, Morston Hall and Cherwell Boathouse). Furthermore, wine merchants took advantage of Swiss Wine Week to showcase their Swiss wine selection.
After this extremely successful première, all the signs point to Swiss Wine Promotion returning to London for a second edition in November 2025.
